Leader, Darian. "How to Understand People: Part 1: The Unconscious: The Great Unknown: Freud Believed that                               Behaviour is Driven by Fears and Desires Locked in the 'Unconscious'- a Part of Ourselves He Attempted to

Reach through Psychoanalysis. here, Darian Leader Explains Freud's Theory and the Ideas that

have Followed." The Guardian, Mar 07, 2009, pp. 20. ProQuest, www.search.proquest.com/docview/24

             4368988?accountid=338. Accessed 5 April. 2020.

This source is talking about scientific research regarding Freud’s Theory, which is a study about unconsciousness affecting people and the function of a human’s brain. It indicates that there are specific parts of the brain that have certain abilities to cause unconsciousness with people. The reason that I choose this article is that I will be able to use this scientific reference when talking about the process behind the human body while seeing monster movies since they all create fear.

Romila, Marius. "Archetypes and Archetypal Symbol in the Little Prince: A Psychoanalytic View on the Work of

        Antoine De Saint-Exupery.” Agathos, vol. 8, no. 2, 2017, pp. 75-84.

        ProQuest, www.search.proquest.com/ docview/1965027402?accountid=338. Accessed 5 April. 2020.

This source is about Carl Jung’s Theory in terms of Archetypes and Archetypal Symbol in the Little Prince. It provides a decent comparison between the Freud Theory regarding the horror’s influence on people. Carl Jung’s Theory is a personal unconscious is a very thin layer that covers the collective unconscious. This source is helpful for me because I will be able to use this article as proof to suggest that social background holds influence over people to see monster movies since monster movies are a product of an era.

“Curiosity or fear? How Yeti, Unicorn and Bigfoot caught the world's imagination.” Business Standard, 14 May 2019,                     www.business-standard.com/article/pti-stories/curiosity-or-fear-how-mythical-creatures-like-yeti-and-

             bigfoot-caught-the-world-s-imagination-119051400357_1.html. Accessed 5 April. 2020.

This source is scientific research because it examines the feelings people produce while seeing horror movies and why these feelings play an essential role in people’s brains and affect people’s behaviors. It explains “why people like to watch horror movies that made them scared” in the perspective of the science behind the human body, for example, the chemicals that the human body produces.

Jones, Lucy. “Is the Himalayan Yeti a Real Animal?” BBC, 30 Jun. 2015, www.bbc.com/earth/story/20150630-is-                          there-such-a-thing-as-a-yeti. Accessed 5 April. 2020.

This source is helpful in my essay because it provides insightful information about how monster culture existed in the global culture trend. From the first mysterious footprint discovered in the Himalayas, there is a chemistry of fear raised among people to explore more. People’s curiosity has overcome the fear for people to find out the truth of Yeti. From this interesting connection between people’s curiosity and fear, I will be able to find evidence for the social influence over monster movies.

Paganopoulos, Michelangelo. "Jesus Christ and Billy the Kid as Archetypes of the Self in American Cinema." Journal of

Religion and Popular Culture, vol. 22, no. 1, 2010, pp. 1-23.

        ProQuest, www.search.proquest.com/docview/748979155?accountid=338.Accessed 5 April. 2020.

This source shows just how influential movies are on people’s sensations. Movies have not only had an impact on people’s life patterns but also have changed people's interest by making people want to explore more. Additionally, the article talks about the Ego’s Relations with Jung’s Archetypes which shows the fact that it has the ability to initiate the creative or catastrophic forces within people. Similarly, I will be able to relate reasons as examples relating to Jesus to my thesis.
